Noah + Carlie
Noah and I have always been so fascinated with film. There’s the storytelling aspect of it that keeps you captivated from start to finish, but there’s also another journey that happens when you push play. Many times when you watch a film, you’re transported back in time. I remember sitting with my family watching home movies on our VCR of some of my first Christmases, my early birthday parties, my great grandparents that I never got to meet, and other moments that laid forgotten in the past. There is something so special about getting to relive memories through film. Nostalgia to some or a time machine to others. If you ask someone at the end of their life what was the best day of their life, many say it’s either the day their child was born or their wedding day. I think it’s interesting that both of these days are centered around this theme of family and connection. The word kairos is Greek for “A moment in time or a timeframe in which God makes it possible for something of lasting importance or significance to happen.” Kairos moments like a wedding day are glimpses of heaven meeting earth. Our desire is to capture these holy moments and preserve them for you and future generations to enjoy.
Throughout the Bible, an altar is a place set apart for encounter with God. It’s a space for sacrifice, worship, atonement, and covenant. There’s no coincidence that on your wedding day, you stand with your spouse at the altar. You’re not just exchanging vows or legally joining yourselves together, but you’re stepping into something sacred, making a covenant before the Lord with your loved ones surrounding you. All throughout Scripture, God’s people built altars to remember what He had done, to remember God’s faithfulness, and stories of His goodness meant to be carried into future generations. This is our heart for your wedding film. It’s not just a recap of the day, but a film of remembrance, something you can return to, to reflect on this holy moment and all that God has done.
